Making a packing list before you go on vacation can be one of the BEST ways to get (and stay organized). And for a destination wedding, creating a packing list becomes even MORE crucial. Between making sure you have the right outfits for all your events to the essentials you’ll need to make sure your wedding goes off without a hitch, there’s a lot to think about. Which is why you should definitely make a destination wedding packing list!
Here’s what you’ll need (and a few items that maybe you don’t need but totally want). P.S. Make sure your spouse has these on their list, too.
The Basics
- Passport (if applicable) or ID if traveling within the U.S
- Visa (if applicable)
- Copy of your birth certificate
- Travel documents including boarding passes and hotel reservations
- Local cash (it’s more cost efficient to exchange before you leave. Your local bank can typically order you what you need)
- Credit cards (make sure you notify the company about your trip)
- Phone, camera, charger
Wedding Essentials
- Wedding gown
- Wedding shoes
- Wedding rings
- Other wedding jewelry
- Wedding day undergarments
- Your vows
- Wedding vendor contact list
- Vendor contracts
- Gifts for your wedding party
- Welcome bag items
Decor
- Favors
- Programs
- Seatings cards and other paper goods (if bringing on your own)
- A couple extra invitations for your wedding photographer to take photos of
- Guest book
- Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue
Other Clothes
- Rehearsal dinner outfit
- Getting ready outfit (robe, etc.)
- Morning after brunch outfit
- Swimwear (make sure to bring strapless so you don’t get tan lines)
- Beach coverups
- Wedding night lingerie
- PJs
- Other outfits depending on number of days you’ll be there
- Sunglasses
Toiletries
- Face wash and other speciality face products (don’y try anything new before your wedding)
- Body lotion
- Shampoo/Conditioner
- Hair styling products
- Razor/shave gel
- Manicure kit
- Contacts and/or glasses (make sure to bring backups!)
- Toothpaste/Toothbrush
- Deodarant
- Inset repellant
