I love Champagne, don’t get me wrong! But I love Prosecco and Cava just as much…and guess what?? Using a Champagne alternative such as Prosecco can save you BIG bucks at your wedding (more on that below). If you’re not sure what the difference between the three is, the infographic from Vinepair does a great job at explaining what sets them apart.
While there are differences between each grape and the fermentation method used, the easiest way to think about the whole thing is that Champagne is France’s sparkling wine, Prosecco is Italy’s, and Cava is Spain’s.
We were lucky enough to sample two amazing Prosecco’s the other week from Terlato Wines: the Nino Franco Rustico Prosecco ($14.99) and the Santa Margherita Prosecco ($16.99), both of which we loved (the Nino Franco scored a 90 from The Wine Advocate which is super impressive). We paired them with goodies curated by lifestyle/design guru Camille Styles, who—we have to admit—we are more than slightly obsessed with. We had fun not only setting up inspirational shoots for them (one for a Palm Springs bachelorette party and the other for a French Provincial garden wedding), but we’re super excited to share two fun signature cocktail ideas for each as well, below.
Thanks so much to Terlato Wines and Camille Styles for sending us these treats!
Lavender Fields
In a champagne flute, combine 2 ounces St-Germain Elderflower Liqueur and 4 ounces Santa Margherita Prosecco. Garnish with dried lavender stems and drink!
Palm Springs Spritz
Add 1 part vodka and 2 parts pineapple juice to a chilled coupe glass. Top off with Nino Franco Rustico Prosecco. Garnish with a pineapple wedge and fresh mint; fancy drink umbrella optional. Enjoy!
Note: Terlato Wines International sent me a gift package with both Proseccos featured above. They are not a paid sponsor.

Does anyone know where I can find Rose Champagne?
